About Me:
Growing up, I knew early on that I wanted to teach. I was fortunate to have had some incredible teachers during my middle school years who inspired me to join this profession. With my goal in mind, I attended the University of New Hampshire and received a B.A. in English Teaching as well as a M.A.T. in English Secondary Education. I also took the opportunity to study abroad during college and attended the University of Stellenbosch in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Through my experiences, I have developed my beliefs on education and continually reaffirmed my passion for teaching.
Mission Statement:
I believe middle school is a time of both academic and self-discovery and that all students are capable of being valuable community members when provided with the opportunities to engage in exciting, real-world explorations. In my classroom, I work to create a community of learners who support each other, take risks, and practice self-reflection. I believe the purpose of education is not only to have each student reach a certain level of proficiency, but also for each student to find in him or herself interests and strengths and to discover that genuine learning is possible for all.
